Adding Coupon Codes to Quotes/Invoices

Adding coupon codes to Quotes or Invoices to send to clients is very simple. First, you need to ensure that the appropriate coupon code has been created. If you need help creating coupon codes, you can follow this guide.

The process of adding a coupon code to a Quote or Invoice is identical for each record, and in this guide we will be focusing on adding a coupon code to an Invoice. 

ADD A COUPON CODE TO AN INVOICE

Within an invoice, coupon codes do not display by default. Whether creating a new invoice or editing an existing invoice, you can add the coupon code selection field by selecting the "Add / Remove Details" dropdown field, then checking the option for "Coupon Code". This will turn on the Coupon Code field within the invoice, where it displays above the Subtotal field. 

Once that Coupon Code field is displayed, you can now select the coupon code dropdown and select which coupon code you would like to apply to your invoice. The appropriate discount will be reflected in the Total of the invoice, with the discount amount reducing the total. 

Once you send/save the invoice, this invoice will be reflected as a redemption with in the coupon code management page, where you can see a hyperlink back to this same invoice. 

This same process can be applied to Quotes when you need to add a coupon code. 

COUPON CODE ERRORS

In some cases, a coupon code may display an error message. The following are some of the more common errors that a user or client may see when applying a coupon code: 

• Coupon Exceeds Maximum Redemption Limit - this means that your coupon code had a redemption limit set, and the total number of redemptions has already been met. 

• Coupon Not Found - this means that the coupon code that the client attempting to populate does not exist within the Sonido Coupon Codes list. They may have a typo in the code, the coupon is expired (inactive) or the coupon never existed.

• This Coupon Code Allows a Single Redemption Per Customer - this means that the single redemption per customer restriction is turned on for the coupon code, and a customer who already used this coupon code is attempting to use it again.
