Payment Method Setup: Cardknox (Merchant Account)

The SensePass integration offers an integration with Cardknox for credit and debit card processing, Apple Pay, Google Pay and ACH bank transfers (USA and Canada).

CREATE A CARDKNOX MERCHANT ACCOUNT

If you do not have a Cardknox merchant account, you can create one for free. To get started, reach out to Sonido Software at [e-mail] and the Sonido team can submit the initial request (you will need to add some additional details in the application before submitting for approval). 

Once your application for the Cardknox merchant account is submitted, the Cardknox team will process the request and you will be notified once your account has been approved and activated. This approval time may take some time, and you can reach out to Cardknox to check on the status at any time.

CONNECT CARDKNOX WITH SONIDO (SensePass Integration)

Once your Cardkox account has been approved and created, log in to the Cardknox Merchant Portal (your account) with your Cardknox account credentials. The following steps will walk you through how to collect the necessary integration keys for connecting Cardknox and Sonido. 

1. Click on the “Account Settings” link and select the "Keys" page. 

2. Select "Create a Key" to create new API key.

3. You will need to create two different Keys for Cardknox. First, select "API (Transaction Key) as the Type and select "Software" as the Description. Be sure that the Key Permissions has selected "Admin Role". Then, press "Create and View". 

After saving, a confirmation message will appear that includes your API key. Be sure to copy the key before closing the window. 

4. Once you have the API key, you will return to your Sonido Software account and navigate to the "Integrations" section within the "Settings" in the main menu. In the "SensePass Integration" section, select the "Payment Methods" tab and click on the "+" icon that is displayed in the same row as the Cardknox payment method. You will populate the copied "API (Transaction Key)" from Cardknox into the "Transaction Key (xKey)" field. You will also populate the same "API (Transaction Key)" from Cardkox into the "eCommerce Key" field.

5. Next, you will need to create a second Key within Cardknox. Return to Cardknox and select the "Create a Key" button again. Select "iFields (Token Key) as the Type and populate a name, such as "Sonido", as the Description. The Key Permissions section will be grayed out - select "Create and View" to finish. 

After saving, a confirmation message will appear that includes your API key. Be sure to copy the key before closing the window. 

6. Once you have the second key, you will return to your Sonido Software account within the "SensePass Integration - Payment Methods. You will populate the copied "iFields (Token Key)" from Cardknox into the "iFields Key" field.

7. After populating these keys, scroll down in the window until you see the "Merchant Gateway ID" field. In this field, enter "cardknoxprod" (without the quotation marks). 

8. After populating these fields, select the "Save" button. This will reset your view in the Payment Methods settings, and you should now see the Cardknox integration with the active toggle enabled.

9. Lastly, you have the option to enable additional payment options via Cardknox, such as Apple Pay, Google Pay and bank ACH. To enable these options, select the appropriate checkboxes within this dialog.

From this point forward, your Sonido invoices and the Sonido Online Booking Portal will show Cardknox as a valid payment method (credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and bank ACH - all depending on which options you have enabled). It's all set up and ready for use by your clients!
