Sonido offers an integration with the Stripe gateway, helping to automate the process of payment collection. Sonido has done all the heavy lifting with code for you - the setup of your Stripe integration will be effortless on your part.
The following steps will help you to complete the setup of the integration.
If you already have a Stripe account for your business, skip to "Copy Stripe API Keys" below.
CREATE A STRIPE ACCOUNT
If you don't have a Stripe account already, you will need to create an account. A Stripe account may be created for free, and the only fee you would pay would be the nominal transaction costs for payment processing. You can learn more about Stripe and their processing fees HERE.
To create your Stripe account, navigate to https://dashboard.stripe.com/register and enter your email address, name and desired password.
ACTIVATE YOUR STRIPE ACCOUNT
After selecting the "Create Your Stripe Account" button, you will need to verify your email address through an automated Stripe email.
SET UP YOUR BUSINESS AND BANK INFO
Once you have verified your email address are logged in to your Stripe account, the next step is to enter your business and bank details. Under the Home link in the main menu, select the "Activate your account" link.
You will see a menu with sections necessary to populate your business and banking information, which will be necessary to allow payments to process straight to your desired banking account. Follow the prompts to enter all required details, then select the "Submit Application" button at the bottom of the screen.
Your Stripe account may take a few minutes to fully activate. You will receive an email confirmation once the account is active, and your account will indicate the status as it progresses forward.
CHOOSE YOUR PREFERRED PAYMENT METHODS
Stripe makes different payment methods available depending on your Country or Region. The following are the payment methods that are now available to you through the integration, broken down by Regions (Sonido plans to implement additional payment methods throughout the coming months):

HOW TO SET UP PAYMENT METHODS IN STRIPE
In many cases, these new payment methods will immediately be available within your existing or new Stripe integration.
To set up the payment methods you’d like to collect in using Stripe, go to https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/payment_methods (log into Stripe).
In the next page, you will see a list of any payment methods that are available to you for taking payments within your Region; not every payment method from Stripe is available in every region. You can select the option to “Turn On” any payment methods that you’d like to use. Once enabled, the payment method will display within Sonido for payment collection (if the payment method is supported).
In some cases, you may be required to take additional steps in enabling the payment method, and Stripe will prompt you through those steps.
Once a supported payment method is turned on within Stripe, it will then show up for taking payments within your Sonido account (Invoices, Sonido Online Bookings). Keep in mind that some payment methods may only show in certain situations. For example, if your Sonido Online Bookings requires your approvals, this means the payment would add a pre-authorization for the payment; some payment methods may not support pre-authorizations, therefore they may not be available for taking payment in such a situations, whereas the payment method would be available when sending an Invoice (which does not require pre-authorization).
Not every payment method within Stripe is currently available for collecting payments through Sonido. We will be implementing additional payment methods over time, and we will provide updates as new payment methods are made available to you.
COPY STRIPE API KEYS
Once your account is active, you are ready to grab the necessary keys from Stripe to connect with Sonido Software.
In Stripe, open the "Developers" section in the main menu and select "API keys".
Make sure that the "View test data" toggle displays as disabled as seen in the image above. You can always use test data and associated keys to test your integration and payment processing in Sonido prior to connecting live, but in most cases this will not be necessary.
There will be two keys necessary to integrating your Stripe account with Sonido Software - the "Publishable Key" and the "Secret Key".
In the Standard Keys section, you will see the publishable key, which you can highlight and copy.
After you have copied the "Publishable Key", open your Sonido account and navigate to the "Settings" section within the main menu, then select the "Stripe" section.
In the Stripe settings, you will see a few options. First, change the Stripe Integration toggle to display as "Enabled" (it should display with a green color when enabled).
Then, paste the "Publishable Key" that you copied from your Stripe account into the appropriate field.
Next, you will go back to your Stripe account and select the "Reveal live key token" button that is hiding your "Secret Key". This will allow you to view and copy the Secret Key. Then, go back to Sonido Software and paste the Secret Key into the appropriate field in the Stripe settings.
After you've populated all fields within the Stripe settings within Sonido, make sure you press the Save button.
Congratulations! Your Stripe integration is now live, and you are ready to begin accepting automated payments from your Sonido invoices!
